Special Meeting Notice
Saturday May 26, 2012
TIME 10:00AM @ ADULT CLUB HOUSE
“Project Open House” with Q&A on Friday night 7PM to 8PM
Be it here by known that the GBNT Board of Director’s is
announcing a special meeting of the membership for the express
purpose of requesting consent of its membership to precede with
an “Administrative Modification” to the GBNT Snohomish County
Conditional Use Permit. As per Bylaw Article IV, Sec. 2 and Article
V, Sec 6, h.
The objective of this meeting is to gain membership approval for
Administrative Modifications to allow some changes for sheds,
gazebos and covered decks. Additional approval is requested for
expanding recreation use under the power lines and that of our
existing Archery Range.
For purposes of determining a quorum, members holding one-
tenth (1/10) of the votes entitled to be cast represented either in
person or by proxy shall constitute a quorum. Article III Sec 4;
Article IV Sec 2
The temporary shelter modifications are stated below:
CU 119-77 Modification Request Shelters
The Gold Bar Nature Trail BOD is inquiring on behalf of its
membership for an Administrative Modification to CU 116-77
changing paragraph 22, (A), (B), (C), (D). They would like to have
an (E) added or letter of approval for a “firewood storage shelter”.
The membership submitted a proposal this past year for
consideration and vote of the entire membership. The board
decided on not allowing the proposal to proceed to a vote of the
membership because the proposal was considered to be in
addition to CU 119-77 paragraph 22 A-D. However, in the spirit of
cooperation and concern for their interest the board decided to
submit them as an administrative modification request.
Administrative Modification (E): Firewood Storage Shelter
They would like to construct a “one” 4’D X 4’L X 6’H or 2’D X 8’L X 6’
H three sided with a roof shelter for keeping firewood dry and
ascetics. Firewood shelters are to be placed either on established
site footprint or in greenbelt adjacent to site footprint.
Additionally, members of the GBNT BOD are inquiring for an
Administrative Modification allowing CU 116-77 paragraph 22, (A),
(C), (D) as it pertains to sheds, gazebos and covered portions of
decks to read:
• The footprint shall not exceed 120 sq ft. and shall be
permitted to have a modest roof overhang not to exceed 12 inches;
gutters are to be part of the 12 inch calculation.
• A weather covering attachment over doors shall be permitted
not to exceed 36 inches in protrusion and not to be enclosed
(gutters included in calculation).
The reason for this request would be to:
1. Resemble the Sno-Co code in terms of “footprint” vs. “roof
areas”.
2. The weather coverings would be most useful on the
cable/peak sides of the structures.
3. To extend the life spans of the structures from rot and decay.
Thus reducing the need to burn the remains of these structures
with our forest slash; keeping in mind that the EPA requirements
will remove our burning privileges in the near future.
CU 119-77 Modification Request Recreation Use Designations
The board wants to pursue the following land uses for under the
power lines. We also need land use approval for the current
Archery Range.
Land usage under the power lines will first require approval from
Bonneville Power which has been supportive of the concept and
want to see a site plan and description as well as approval from
Sno-Co PDS.
